3 Years of War: Ukraine's Heroic Stand

Image of the Ukraine and Russia 3 years after it began.

February 24, 2025 marks the third anniversary of a barbaric war started by Russia and the war criminal, Vladimir Putin, against the democratically elected Volodymyr Zelensky and the people of a sovereign Ukraine. Ukraine is fighting not only for retention of its territory and security guarantees, but for its very political and cultural survival. History is replete with examples of Russian designs on Ukraine and events that followed Russian conquests in other countries. These events include the killing, exile and imprisonment of the intelligentsia, elimination of the free press and civil society, illegalization of native language schools and literature, abolishment of free and fair elections, nationalization of banks and businesses, and constraints on religious freedom. Ukraine and Europe, especially Eastern Europe, know this will be the reality of a Russian victory in Ukraine. Ukraine earned and deserves better.

The United States has supported the defense of Ukraine for the past three years at an actual expense of less than $100 billion out of a total of $120 billion obligated. Stockpiled weapons were distributed and replaced in US arsenals by newly manufactured weapons. The United States provided approximately 60% of aid with 40% coming from European countries. Weapons are lost on the battlefield, not sold to other countries. This is the reality.

Quote, Unlike government-funded efforts, we rely entirely on people like you. And right now, the demand for our aid is outpacing what we can supply.

While the current US Administration is faltering, we at Ukraine Aid are not. We do not receive government money and have been unaffected by the elimination of foreign aid. However, the need and demand for our aid has increased beyond what we can supply. The next two weeks will see the shipment of our 9 th container of 6.5 tons of medical equipment and supplies, and another 1,000 pounds of emergency medical supplies to front-line military medical units. We continue to provide evacuation vehicles, electronic jamming systems, starlink systems, and computers to front-line units.
